Vision:

Every school in the district must provide the highest standards of care, quality, and opportunity, and it all starts with the physical campus itself. I am committed to equally valuing all school campuses, regardless of location. When the physical learning environment is clean, updated, and welcoming, our students gain a sense of pride, increased confidence, and self-worth. More than just an education, the school campus experience has the ability to aid the development of our child into a whole person that’s better prepared for the future. Having school pride.

Plan

I think a lot of working families & people are tired of hearing, "There's no money," especially when we see money appear for other priorities. “Do or do not; there is no try”~ Yoda. If someone tells me, "There's no money," my response, according to my husband, is,  “YES THERE IS, FIND IT”.  Realistically, I refuse to accept no without exploring every imaginable option: "Okay... now tell me what we've tried." Show me every grant we applied for. Show me every partnership we explored. Show me every budget option we considered. But I don't believe in stopping at the first "no." I believe in exhausting every "yes" until we've found a path forward. 

Advocate for equitable investment in the maintenance, modernization, and appearance of every campus throughout the district. Prioritize safe, clean, and welcoming learning environments that promote student well-being and school pride. Celebrate each school's unique identity while ensuring every student has access to high-quality facilities and learning environments, regardless of where they live.

The district already maintains our schools; I appreciate the work our maintenance and facilities staff do. I don't believe the issue is simply finding more money; it's making sure we're getting the greatest value from every dollar we already invest. As a board member, I would ask tougher questions: Which campuses have gone the longest without improvements? Are maintenance dollars being distributed equitably? Are we addressing problems early to avoid more expensive repairs later? Are our investments improving safety, functionality, and the student experience? Those are the kinds of conversations I want the Board to have publicly so our community understands not only what we're spending, but why.
